Greatest Dilbert Ever
I am not saying that this applies to me or anything, (I have one of the greatest personal lives of all time) but this is truly a classic example of the genius which is Scott Adams:

Ok so in the fall we fall back an hour, and everyone gets to sleep in an extra hour Sunday morning, and everyone is happy, but I am not happy. I dont like the time change because now when i leave work at 5:30 or 6 then it is already dark. I love being outside and enjoying the sunshine, but now the sunshine is wasted on the wee hours of the morning when I can’t enjoy them.
Or can I…
Maybe I need to start getting up earlier and getting outside a little more to enjoy the sunshine before going to work. The mornings this time of year are crisp and cool and nice. Hmmm. Ok I’ll give it a shot.

Here is a link to an online museum of Burtan snowboards starting in the stone age of snowboards, 1977, when the first snowboard was experimented with, all the way through to modern times. Check it out. I am excited about going snowboarding this year, and I think we are going to get a trip together for mid January. I dunno what to do till then. Maybe pray for some snow and take my board out on the nearest hillside to wait. UPDATE: Or I could watch snowboarding videos on google video! This one is absolutely amazing and is just a little more evidence that CA is the outdoor capital of the US. I wanna go!

It seems that the issue over the past few days was that the same IP address was issued to the website for “www.thecreativesourceonline.com” as was issued to my website some time ago. So her website was showing up under my domain name, since domain names point blindly at an IP address, no matter whose website is there. We have now changed our IP address, so hopefully there will be no such problems down the road. Now, back to spewing mindless mumblings into internet land.
Yes its true. Maybe they didn’t win it in basketball or football, or even baseball, but Saturday they took home the national championship in bass fishing out in Lake Lewisville, Texas. Congrats to N.C. State senior Chad Craven and sophomore Alex Freeman for their win in this inaugural competition, and may it be only the beginning of a proud dynasty of national championships for the wolfpack.

Talking to some guys here at work, they are very interested in starting up the kind of study that I spoke of earlier. This is really exciting for me, and is an answer to prayer. God willing we will be working over the next few weeks to lay out an outline for a study, and probably some of that will show up here. We shall see how the Lord works!
I would like to start a technical Bible study where I work. What is a technical Bible study? What I’d like it to be is a study of the Bible from a technical point of view. The reason is because the audience here is a technical audience. They are an extremely smart group of engineers that are comming from all different backgrounds, including hinduism, buddhism, and athiesm. They have been approached with the Bible before, but it was from a “believe this because we said to believe it” standpoint. There is nothing wrong with a standpoint like that as it is effective for some people, but these guys are looking for the answer to “why?”.
Why should they believe this religion over all the others. Whats the difference between us telling them to believe Christianity and their parrents telling to to believe hinduism. Where did the Bible come from? How do we know that it is true? I have asked them about hinduism, and often the answers are groggy. “The legend is that some prince riding on an elephant saved a girl and the cow kept her warm all night” and so on and so forth. As they tell me these stories its obvious that they dont believe them themselves. It would be very exciting to discuss Christianity, and the facts behind it. Christianity has archilogical evidence that supports it. Christianity is logical. Christianity makes sense, and can withstand extensive debate and research. The Christian world view accurately represents the world that we see around us.
Hopefully while talking through “why should we believe the Bible” we will have opportunities to open up the Bible and read its message for our lives. God uses the reading of his word to save men, and if all that is accomplished is that some people are encouraged to read the Bible who haven’t ever read it before, then perhaps God will use that to save some. I would hope that eventially the Bible study could turn a corner and morph into something that shows people the way and helps them along that way.
Can you pray that the door would be opened for something like this? Thanks!
Are you in need of guidance? Do you have questions about life that you cannot find answers for? Do you have huge ammounts of time on your hands that you dont know what to do with? Ask a ninja! Here is a great compilation of several of the ask a ninja clips.
So Justin and Leah Falciola are down for the long weekend to hang out. Upon hearing the news that they were comming Jamie Biondo told them one must see is a burrito sold only at Banditos Mexican Restaurant in Chapel Hill or Durham. The burrito is called El Gigante and it weighs four pounds. Four pounds of beans, rice, onions, green peppers, salsa, guacamole, and whatever other slop they decide to throw in. The challenge is that if one person can eat the whole burrito then they get a free t-shirt and their picture on the wall, and they get bragging rights forever.
Strangly even though Justin and Leah were the ones visiting, it was Mike and Jamie who decided to give El Gigante a try. They each ordered one of the huge burritos, costing around 15 dollars each, and after strategizing a game plan and going through the psychological preparation necessary for such an endeavor, they dug in.
Mike was sprinting, and we all soon became convinced that he could do it. Although he had to take a few brakes to walk around a little and let the food settle, he amazingly finished the entire thing in 16 minutes, just one minute shy of the all time restaurant record set in 1947 (ok I dont actually know when the record was set).
Jamie was a different story however. He had the added challenge that he didn’t like onions, peppers, or beans. Where Mike saw this as wonderful, having so much food in front of him, for Jamie this was more like fear factor. after 10 minutes he was about at the halfway mark, but the psychology of it was killing him. He kept battling, getting some tips from the recently finished Mike, and managed to get down to about the last pound, but he was not looking like he was in too good shape. He was sweating, his pace slowed, and he was seriously looking like he wasn’t going to be able to hold it down. However he dug down, found a small empty pocket in which to put just a little more rice and beans, and cleaned his plate.
Now we would like to say this was the end of the story. Both guys got T-shirts and they got their picture taken together. After we all paid however, Jamie hobbled out of the restaurant bent over like a grandma, and Mike wasn’t looking so hot anymore. Upon their leaving the restaurant, they both seemed to suddenly remember an appointment they had made, and the next we knew they were both out in the bushes behind the building reviewing the contents of those wonderful burritos.
So was it worth it? Heck yeah it was worth it. For a T-shirt and the fame and the picture on the wall it was totally worth it. Would they do it again? Lets just say they probably wont be looking forward to Leah and Justin’s next visit with quite the same vim and vigor.
