First of all, congratulations to Italy. I was very happy for all my Italian American friends, and I was very happy that they beat France. The 5 of 5 for penalty kicks was very exciting.
Also, here is a video of the ghana team practicing for the world cup. I think that is Pimpong sharing his personal expertise with the rest of his team mates. I would also like to see a video of some of the Referees prepairing for this World Cup. I am sure that it would involve blindfolds, a lot of looking the other way, and sneak peaks up at the instant replay on the big screen.
Here is something to debate. The comentators said that one of the linesman saw the replay of the French head-butt to the chest and relayed it to the center linesman who issued a red card. Technically there is no instant replay in soccer, so is that really right? Should there have been a red card since none of the referees saw what happened first person real time? If we say its ok in this case since it was so flagrant, then what if one of the referees glance up and notice they had the wrong call and reverse it on something not quite as black and white, like an out of bounds or a foul during play? How do you handle this technically since the fans deserve to see instant replays, and thats what those big screen TVs are for? Very interesting.

Amazingly this article was published by the Washington Post and it seems to be reasonably on target. Of course it is critical of the President, but surprisingly it expresses the belief that the President needs to take a firmer stand against North Korea and that the threat of force should be hung over Kim Jong Il’s head.
I dont know anything of the authors background, but it would be interesting to see if he holds to that belief when the time comes to empart that force upon NK for their continuing disregard of our threats. It would also be interesting to see what the author’s beliefs are concerning the current war in Iraq which is the direct result of his proposal being carried through by our president. This article is now forever saved in the anals of bradlands for future reference.

Now is the best time of year to buy your winter sporting equipment such as skis or snowboards, big jackets, goggles, gloves, etc. Stores know that in September they will be getting in lots of new stuff for the winter, so they are having sales to clear out their old stuff now. Its also a great time to check out eBay for snowboard deals. I got a decent snowboard for $62 on ebay that includes boots and bindings, that is worth over $300 normally. A lot of people are wanting to buy bikes or other summer stuff, and the memory of all the fun they had on their snowboard has worn off, rendering it worthless. Hence great deals. So dont miss out on the great winter deals just because the temperature is in the 90s!
