winterplace snowboarding
Saturday we are going skiing up at winterplace in west virginia. James surprised us with a two week visit so he is going, and Jenny is comming along too. It’ll be fun because Jenny will be learning to ski while I’ll be learning to snowboard, so I anticipate spending the day learning with her. Weather forecast is for snow the entire day! It’ll also be great to be back on the slopes with James. Some of my best memories are of us skiing. He would also go straight down the mountain and I would be the more cautious one. We would have a lot of fun doing all the blackdiamonds though. Good times, and looking forward to tomorrow!

Man we had a really great time here. It was in the 20s and snowing the whole day, and conditions could not have been better. Since it was Presidents Day weekend and snowing and an olympic year, it was probably as crowded with people as it has been in 4 years, but the singgles lines went fast and its fun to weave in and out of people.
I did snowboarding for the first time and fell down a LOT. My entire body is wracked with pain right now, but it was worth it. By lunch time I felt like I had reasonable control of the board, and by the end of the day I was doing 1080s on the halfpipe and grabbing the board just to show off. Ok maybe not. But I was feeling confident with everything by the end of the day and having a lot of fun with it. I am looking forward to doing some more boarding at Beech Mountain this saturday, and I plan to start the day off with a lesson that might formalize some of the things I have learned so far and help me out for the future. Overall it was a wicked day of snowing and I am totally stoked man! (more snowboarding lingo here)
