I would encourage you to go see it. I realize the controversy surrounding Chad Allen, but the way I see it Satan is using that to keep Christians away from the movie and if the Christians won't go see this movie then the unbelievers definately won't go see it. We watch dozens of movies every year where the actors are wretched, sinful people who promote their sin, sometimes even in the movie that we are watching. Why should the fact that the movie has a good message make us suddenly take a magnifying glass to the actors to make sure they do not live controversial lives. I am not for a second trying to justify Chad Allens sin or his person in him promoting sin. I am just saying that that sort of thing doesn't keep most of us away from any other movie we watch, why should it keep us away from this one? If Christians showed up in force for this and box office totals were good for the movie then it would send a message to Hollywood: Brokeback mountain is not going to bring in money, a good Christian movie will. Already we have seen that successes like Passion and Chronicles of Narnia are setting a precident. I say we encourage that by supporting this movie in the theatre. I will most likely go see it again before it leaves the theatres and it definately hightened my interest in Jim and Nates outreach to the Aucas. I am looking forward to watching <a href="http://www.beyondthegatesthemovie.com/" rel="nofollow">the documentary</a> that they showed clips of in the credits of "End of the Spear", and I will add "Through gates of Splender" to my reading list.
